Michael Koch
Principal

Michael has over 10 years of transit planning, management, and consulting experience. His has worked both directly for government agencies and on a consulting basis for systems across the United States. He understands the elements required to develop and successfully implement transit plans in a multitude of different settings. Michael is known for his ability to work effectively and diligently with community organizations, governing boards and as well as state & federal agencies. Having a strong background as a certified GIS specialist and transit manager provides him with a strong practical skillset in data analysis, both on-the-ground and in a technical setting. He has utilized his skills to benefit the systems he has managed and contracted with. Michael also brings with him an impressive rate of grant-winning writing, administrative, and management skills.

Michael’s passion for transit is fed by his belief that effective and efficient transit options has the ability to transform the communities they serve. He serves on multiple local and state transit boards and advocates for all forms of transportation, with an emphasis on the populations that are most transit dependent.

Admin/Technical Support

Richard has an impressive background in legal and contracting work that includes over 10 years of work in the legal field, real estate title, and business management. His primary function at Compass covers finance and administration tasks, although he is also known for his detailed approach to research and reviews of contracts and program plans. He has experience with survey development, community outreach, and collaboration that make him a vital part of the Compass Transit Consulting team.
